10% Discount on Tip Restraint Devices

Give away free furniture tip restraints during Furniture Safety Week! Two American Home Furnishings Alliance members are offering Furniture Safety Week participants a 10% discount on bulk tip restraint orders. Both products comply with ASTM F3096-23, the safety standard for tip restraint devices.

B. Walter & Co. of Wabash, Indiana, has been producing furniture tip restraints to reduce the risk of accidental furniture tip-over for more than 10 years. The company’s products meet ASTM F3096-23, as required by the furniture stability standard implemented under the STURDY Act. The tip restraints are individually packaged with installation instructions in English, French and Spanish. They are sold in boxes of 500. To order, call B. Walter’s Customer Service desk at 260/563-2181 ext. 302, fax a PO to B. Walter at 260/563-6301, OR email CustomerService@bwalter.com

Hangman Products, based in Simi Valley, California, makes two all-steel anti-tip kits. The original holds 400 pounds when installed in a wall stud. Over 5 million have been sold with zero failures. The all-steel components will not erode or decay. A new, lower-cost model does not require stud installation and holds 150 pounds. It also features all-steel components. Both products exceed ASTM F3096-23 requirements. Hangman is a U.S.-based company but has a sister factory in Ningbo, China, and can ship direct to international ports. To order, contact Sharon Magcalas at sharon@hangmanproducts.com or call 818/610-0487.

Find a Local Childproofing Expert

International Association for Child Safety® (IAFCS) is a network of child safety professionals and babyproofers. IAFCS Members are recognized childproofing experts and are excellent resources for retailers participating in Furniture Safety Week. The average home is not designed, constructed or furnished with the safety needs of a child in mind. And, sadly, many parents are unaware of the potential dangers until an injury occurs. An experienced childproofer can provide valuable peace of mind for parents, grandparents and caregivers. Planning a store event for Furniture Safety Week? Consider bringing in a childproofing expert to offer customers basic childproofing tips, including guidance on anchoring furniture.
