Alliance4Safety recommends following all state and local government guidelines, and offers these examples for companies that wish to exceed those guidelines.

Personal Protection

Provide hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves, as needed

Encourage frequent hand washing

Social Distancing

Limit the number of entry doors

  • All entrances that are not in use should remain locked to entry from the outside while allowing for emergency exit

Post signs to encourage social distancing throughout the plant

Health Screening

Provide a no-touch thermometer inside the entry and request that people seek immediate medical attention if their temperature is over 100 degrees

Cleaning & Disinfecting

Regularly disinfect door handles and other frequently-touched surfaces

Personal Protection

Require all persons to use hand sanitizer before entering the building

Require all persons to wear a mask upon entering the building and to keep it on at all times, except when in isolation

Health Screening

Require all persons to take their temperature immediately upon entering the building and to seek medical attention if temperature is greater than 100 degrees

Wipe down entry door handles and knobs after each use

Provide employees with reusable masks that they may take home

  • Train employees on the proper use and maintenance of their masks

Provide all persons entering the facility with an appropriate face mask, if they do not have one

Social Distancing

Stagger shift start times to reduce the number of people who seek to enter the facility at any given time

Mark 6-foot queueing spots at entryways

Require all persons to stay 6 feet apart as they enter the building

Health Screening

Establish a temperature screening station outside each door at which employees and guests may enter

  • Provide a hand sanitizing station at the entrance to each temperature screening station, and require all persons to apply sanitizer upon arrival
  • All persons entering the temperature screening station must wear a mask and apply that mask immediately after applying hand sanitizer
  • Conduct a mandatory temperature check for each person who wishes to enter the building
  • If temperature is over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, deny entry and instruct the person to seek medical attention
  • Each person must answer “no” to all of the following questions before being allowed entry to the building; anyone who answers “yes” to any of these questions will be denied entry and instructed to seek medical attention

A frequent unexplained cough? Unexplained shortness of breath or difficulty breathing? Unexplained tiredness?

Within the past 14 days, have you come into close contact with someone who:
Has a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or had a frequent unexplained cough, unexplained shortness of breath or difficulty breathing or unexplained tiredness?

Wipe down all temperature screening stations at the start of each day and hourly throughout the day
